Transport / Operations Administrator - Spider are currently recruiting on behalf of a waste management company based in Great Blakenham in Suffolk, for a Transport / Operations Administrator. The company specialise in the import and export of recyclable waste goods such as scrap metal and commercial waste.

The Transport / Operations Administrator role will provide support to the whole department, whilst focusing on customer delivery and administrative accuracy.

Reporting to the Transport and Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Respond to customer enquiries by answering the telephone and responding to emails
• Write and send quotations
• Defect report data collection
• Update maintenance job sheets
• Carry out Health and Safety checks of the site
• Write and report site non-conformances
• Create and update the company's weekly/monthly reports
• Stock taking and ordering, to include ordering uniform
• Book in vehicle inspections, services and MOTs when required
• Collection of driver tacho data and updating to the tis-web software
• Present driver infringements
• Perform filing duties in paper form and via the company's electronic filing system
• Act as Front of house for all incoming customers, be responsible for weighing vehicles in and out over the Weighbridge
• Take card payments over the phone
• Chase slow moving skip/bins
• Create and update job orders
• Proactive contact with customers, assisting Transport Planner/Supervisor
• Raise invoices and deal with invoice queries (WASTE ONLY), to a satisfactory conclusion whilst preventing further queries
• Generate reports to support the business
• Manage duty of care implementation and roll out for new and existing services
• Build relationships with Brokers that require 'one point of contact' supporting the commercial team

Skills and attributes required:

• Excellent communication skills both within the business and externally, particularly on the telephone
• Ability to work as a team player, listening to all sides and co-ordinating the best solution to move forward
• Capacity to work under pressure, remaining calm and focused at all times
• Day to day problem solving skills are advantageous
• Competent knowledge with Microsoft Office packages and general computer systems
• Ability to work flexibly as per the demands of the business - in return the business will reciprocate and accommodate personal flexibility requests (within reason)
• Experience in planning and customer/supplier liaison is most desirable
• Value for money attitude towards cost control is essential
