Senior Office Assistant - Spider are pleased to be supporting a Stowmarket based subscription agent supplying electronic and print based media resources to the Government and Education markets, and represents over 200 publishers. The successful Senior Office Assistant will need to have experience of working at a senior level for this incredibly varied role as you will be supporting the Managing Director. Experience of working within a small busy office environment, together with a willingness to learn is essential.

Senior Office Assistant's key responsibilities will be approximately 50% admin and 50% accounts. The ideal candidate for the position of Senior Office Assistant needs to have a wealth of experience in both admin and accounts as the work is interrelated.

• Answering telephone and directing calls appropriately
• Corresponding with clients and publishers via email
• Entering cash received
• Entering purchase Invoices
• Entering sales and purchase orders
• Handling of incoming and outgoing mail
• Monitoring and responding to emails
• Monitoring of stationery levels and ordering as required
• Month end statements
• Preparation of email mailings
• Preparing BACs payment runs
• Processing credit card payments
• Processing sales invoices
• Scanning documents as required
• Taking accurate messages and ensuring they are forwarded
• Updating and maintaining subscription database

Skills and attributes required:

• Ability to organise own workload and adapt / prioritise as necessary
• Able to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal communication
• Confident self-starter used to working as a team player in a busy environment
• Excellent and confident telephone manner
• Good command of the English language
• Numeracy skills and attention to detail essential
• Strong administrative skills, particularly the ability to use the following to a high standard: Outlook, as email is our main method of communication, Word and Excel

This is a full-time role with working hours 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. On offer to the ideal candidate is a salary of £22,000 to £24,000 per annum dependent on experience. Own transport is required as no public transport is available, but parking is free.
